Explore Science in a Whole New Way at Science on Tap
Science on Tap features a brief, informal presentation by a local scientist followed by lively conversation. The goal is to build our community’s enthusiasm for science in a fun and unique way. Each Science on Tap will feature different topics so community members will learn something new each time they attend.
This month we welcome Dr. Zachary Culumber, a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Division of Biology at KSU and a graduate of Sunset Zoo’s Science Communication Fellowship program. Zach's research focuses on how genetic variation is maintained in natural populations, in particular the connections between ecology, evolution and genetics physiology. He is becoming increasingly interested in how changes in the environment drives changes in populations.
Zach's research explores patterns among species to facilitate understanding of these driving questions. And if he's pursuits aren't exciting enough, he travels regularly to Mexico to collect data for his research.
